Koulourakia Cookies

140-160 pieces 

   

450gr unsalted butter one block

8 cups all-purpose fleur

8 fresh large eggs

1 cup orange juice

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 teaspoons baking soda

4 teaspoons baking powder

2 ½ -cups sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup lukewarm milk

Grated rind of two oranges

Pre-heat oven 180ºc-350ºf

 

 

Preparation  

With mixer beat butter and sugar adding eggs one at a time.

Beat until smooth consistency and sugar has dissolved.

Shift flour with baking powder and baking soda.

Add remaining ingredients and use flour as it takes and not all at once until you get soft and elastic dough that doesn't stick to fingers

Let the dough to pause for 30 minutes, room temperature.

Take small pieces of dough the size of a walnut to form S shape O, or braiding small shaped koulourakia

Line koulourakia in a lightly greased baking tray or use a silicon baking paper
